Current Volunteer Needs (1/26/2006)
- MSN and AOL teachers
In our beginning class, we teach students how to use email using Outlook Express and will add Yahoo email to the curriculum soon. However, many students use other email programs and it would help if we could teach classes specifically for them.
if you would be interested in teaching such a class. It would be a single one and one-half hour class during the day.
In General
The planning, organization and implementation of CLC
programs is handled by community volunteers. These volunteers
are guided by the CLC Advisory Group. The Advisory Group
provides a structure for the volunteers so questions
can be answered and policies established, where necessary.
For example, the Advisory Group decides which classes
will be taught and has a general say in determining
curriculum. Subcommittees are formed when needed to deal with specific areas of interest or concern.
Volunteers are always welcome. We are always on the lookout for anyone who can add to our available areas of expertise. For example, we have an ongoing shortage of Mac expertise. We need teachers and techies to help our waiting list of students and maintain our three iMACs. Also, the webmaster wouldn't mind a little assistance with this web page. If you have an interest in any of the following areas and have some time to spare, please send me an email and I will put you in touch with the appropriate Advisory Group member who will then put you to work.
Send an email if you can volunteer in any of the following areas:
- Mac teaching and maintenance
- PC hardware maintenance
- Windows expertise
- Users' Group presentation (pc and mac) on computers, new technology, anything else that might be of interest to our users
- Teaching Open Office
- Linux expertise (we would like to know more but don't have an in-house expert)
- Anything else you would like to share
Even if you are not able to volunteer you are welcome to drop by a Users' Group meeting: Mondays from 9:30 to 11:00. We welcome new faces.
Thanks, CLC Webmaster |
